What this means in practice

The booking boxes and links to the six listings lead to GetYourGuide, which is a fully licensed online travel agency. If you book after clicking through, GetYourGuide pays me a percentage of what you paid them. There is no markup on your price, no additional fees, and nothing that appears at checkout. Links to the museum's website, its ticket office, and its opening plan do not earn me anything, and I use them whenever they are the best answer for the reader — which is often.

If what I write changes

Judge it by the site, not by a promise. The first thing the tickets page says is that at the ticket office, the ticket costs €20 and booking on the museum's website costs the same, which is the path where I don't earn a cent. The review of the best-selling listing opens by saying how many euros it is above the ticket office price. Each of the six reviews contains at least one thing the reader would have preferred to know before paying: the audio guide that describes pieces under restoration, the app that two reviewers deem useless, the lowest rating on the page, groups left without radio guides, the twenty-two reviews behind the private tour. This is not how you maximise a commission.

What the commission pays for is the time to check every statement on the museum's pages instead of copying the descriptions of those who sell. It's the only reason why the comparison between the six options is worth reading.
